Feb. 17–An attempt in the General Assembly to hold down the cost of homeowners insurance in coastal areas by allowing insurers to exclude coverage for windstorm damage has been carried over until next year.
Meanwhile, legislators are asking Virginia’s insurance commissioner to study alternatives for making the insurance more affordable.
