Sep. 7–AUSTIN, Texas–Fort Worth homeowners could see premiums cut nearly in half under a series of insurance reforms proposed Friday by a coalition of consumer groups.
The reforms – a response to growing public outcry over skyrocketing rates — include a total re-regulation of the industry, rate rollbacks and a ban of the controversial use of customer credit history in setting premiums.
